What are ID Specialists?
ID Specialist stands for Infectious Disease Specialist. These medical professionals complete four years of medical school, three years of training as a doctor of internal medicine, and an additional two to three years of specialized training in the field of infectious diseases. Most common infections are treated by a family physician, an ID Specialist is consulted in cases where diagnosis is difficult, the infection is accompanied by high fever, or the infection does not respond to treatment.
ID Specialists also assist healthy people who will be traveling overseas to a location where the risk of infection is elevated. In these cases, the ID Specialist may recommend additional vaccinations, to prevent infection.
In cases of chronic infection, such as HIV/AIDS, the ID Specialist may serve as the personal physician, to coordinate the best possible treatment plan for the patient.
Our Hours
Our Administrative office hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm to assist you.
We have varied outpatient clinic hours according to the following schedule:
Monday- 12:30-3:30
Tuesday-12:30-3:30
Wednesday- 12:30-3:30
Thursday- Off - NO OFFICE HOURS
Friday- 12:30-2:30
Monday- 9:00-11:30
Tuesday- 9:00-11:30
Wednesday- 9:00-11:30
Thursday- 9:00-11:30
Friday- Off - NO OFFICE HOURS
On weekdays our physicians make rounds on their respective patients that are hospitalized on a daily basis. On weekends or holidays one of our physicians will make rounds on each of our hospitalized patients.
